News from the ACO

This is my first President's Message, and I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.
Before joining the ACO in 2009, I'd been coaching for 11 years in my beautiful hometown of Avon Lake, Ohio, just a mile from the shores of Lake Erie. When I learned about and decided to join the ACO, I was looking to get to know my peers in the business. Sarah D. Wright, our outgoing president, was my first contact. She and I got to know each other as we rode together on the bus to Capitol Hill at the 20 year later that I joined the ACO's leadership team and eventually joined the board as secretary, then program chair and, most recently, conference chair for 2013. More Transitions
In the last issue of Circle, I acknowledged that I was writing my last President's Message (again). This month I get to write my first ever Letter from the Editor, and I'm thrilled to be taking on this new challenge. I have a lot of ideas--we're going to continue to expand on our community calendar, add research articles, and much more--and I'm looking forward to working with lots of people to make Circle an ever more interesting and useful newsletter for our ADHD Coaches community. Membership Survey - It's Still Not Too Late!
In 2012, the ACO grew by an astounding 23%! With growth of, course, the demographics of our membership have changed. For example, in the early years, 75% of our members had trained either at the  ADD Coach Academy, the Optimal Functioning Institute, or the Coach Training Institute. This is no longer true.
As we are in our 8th year as the professional association for ADHD Coaches, the ACO wants to find out who we are now.Read more here.
