During the second half of 2010, the Board of Directors of the ACO went through an extensive strategic planning exercise. During this process we recognized that it would be advantageous to the organization to change the timing of our election cycle.
Going forward, ACO board members will be elected in April, before the annual conference, and take their positions on June 1. This allows us to introduce the new board members to you at the 2011 conference, and to use our time together at the conference to conduct important board orientation and visioning exercises.
Thus our next election will be held Friday, April 8, 2011. The ACO board positions are for two-year terms. Half the standing board positions are elected in any given year.

Opportunities for Members
The ACO is growing fast and needs board members with talents, time and the commitment to take an active role in these changes. In exchange, being on the board of the ACO offers you a chance for international recognition, and a chance to develop skills that can help you in your own businesses. Additionally, working with a dedicated group of fellow coaches to advance the profession is both fun and inspiring, especially for those of us who are solo-preneurs and who otherwise work alone.
♦ Current board members are being asked if they wish to continue to serve.
♦ Active committee members are being asked if they wish to serve.
♦ And any ACO member who is interested in serving, or who has questions about serving, can contact the Nominating Committee Chair, Sarah Wright. If you have interest in helping on a committee rather than on the board, we’d love to hear from you too!
If you want to get involved, now is the time to speak up. Think about it. There are lots of ways to participate in the growth of the ACO. You just need to step up. It’s a lot of fun, and (trust me) very rewarding. Contact Sarah Wright, Chair of the Nominating Committee. Let her know about your interest or ask questions.Sincerely,
Sarah D. Wright
Immediate Past President
