What an exciting conference! The ADHD Awareness Team was out in full force at the 2014 ACO conference. The mission of the team this year was twofold. First, to remind coaches that the ACO has developed tools to help ACO members create their own Awareness events in the communities they serve. And second, to engage conference attendees in ADHD Awareness. The team created a three-question card for attendees to fill out that went into a drawing for a gift certificate redeemable at the conference bookstore (which was won by Catherine Pietro–congratulations Catherine!). The questions were as follows:

  1. If you could do anything that you wanted for ADHD Awareness 2014 (October is ADHD Awareness Month), what would it be?
  2. How could we support you if you did that?
  3. What else would you like to tell us?

The responses were a tremendous help to the team. As coaches shared their plans and dreams for creating awareness about ADHD, it became even more evident that we are an organization of creative and diverse professionals with a plethora of great ideas.

The team is extremely grateful to each and every one of you who took valuable time out of your conference schedule to share your thoughts. Your voice is valuable. The Awareness Team is carefully weighing suggestions and options for where to put its efforts this year, and is looking forward with an auspicious eye to a great ADHD Awareness Month in October 2014!

If you were unable to attend the 2014 conference, or didn’t submit a card, or have any additional ideas, we would still like to hear from you.
