Submit Your Own ADHD Story
Submissions Accepted July 15 – August 30, 2012
Earlier this year at the ACO annual conference, the idea of a contest where people would video and share their experience of ADHD was proposed to Rick Green of Totally ADD. It has turned out to be a winner of an idea. Working with Sarah Wright and Mindy Katz from the ACO, and Rick’s friends at Cyberwalker, Totally ADD has created a portal where you submit your videos.

The ADHD Awareness Week Video Contest is officially on NOW! You can submit a video. Or a hundred videos, if you are ambitious. Every video that qualifies will be on display in the Totally ADD gallery, and the top five will receive prizes!
Check out the step-by-step instructions for creating your video (link here for Film 101, or how make a two minute video). This includes everything from brainstorming ideas, finding a location, creating a storyboard and finally shooting your video. Check out all the tips, rules and updates at ADHDAwarenessWeek.org video contest. Tell a story. Create a skit or song. Use puppets or animation. There’s no limit!
A panel of expert judges will select the top 5 videos and then it’s up to you. From September 6 through September 23, 2012, voting will open up to the public and the video that earns the most votes wins the grand prize. All submissions are also eligible for inclusion in a public service announcement that will be unveiled during ADHD Awareness Week!
Each of the top 5 finalists will win a prize package worth over $500 with the grand prize package worth over $1000.
- The first prize winner’s video will be featured at the November 2012 CHADD conference in San Francisco,
- plus s/he will receive a complimentary conference registration and
- a one-year CHADD membership;
- ten weeks of ADHD coaching services from an ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO) professional member;
- a 3-year family/individual or one-year professional Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) membership.
