CHADD2015ConferenceSmlIt’s hard to believe it is already November and the holidays are just around the corner. But before that all begins, many of you will be going to the CHADD conference November 12-14 in New Orleans. CHADD is a great resource for coaches: just like at the ACO conference we can learn so much there, make great new connections, and check in with old friends. Speaking of which, while you’re there, be sure to stop by ACO’s booth and say ‘Hello’!

Promote! Promote! Promote! In these last two months of the year many of us experience a slow down in clients. I like to use this extra time to sketch out my overall plan for 2016 and call businesses or physicians offices to setup a time to come in and talk in January and February. These personal calls and visits remind them of what I do and the reward for me is bringing in clients — sort of like waving the flag.

This year I plan to let every doctor’s office know about the ACO, what we do, and how I fit into the organization (one of the great benefits of volunteering here!). I’ll let them know that ADHD coaches are well trained and that many are certified. And I add at the end of every presentation I give that people can find ADHD coaches all over the world through the ACO’s List of Professional ADHD Coaches, because I believe this helps us all.

I encourage each and everyone of you to promote both your business and the ACO to every professional you know. It’s hard to believe, but there are still ADHD professionals who don’t know about ADHD Coaching, or that it is its own profession with evidence-based practices! The ACO works hard to live up to our tagline, “promoting ADHD Coaches and Coaching worldwide,” and so it is also our pleasure to promote all of you at CHADD through the ACO’s vendor booth, as well as the many presentations by your ACO colleagues. We hope you’ll do the same. As they say, a rising tide floats all boats!

I’ll be looking forward to hearing how the CHADD conference went, and if any of you would like to share a story or tell us about a great presentation, we might have room in our December issue…!

Until next time . . . .
