By Joyce Kubik, President ACO

Having just wrapped up the ACO’s Annual International Conference, I’m eager to share with you some of the highlights. Three major announcements were made at the conference!

First, you may have noticed the announcement in last month’s Circle about the creation of ACO Books, the publishing arm of the ACO, dedicated to publishing essential reading for anyone interested in ADHD Coaching. The first ACO Books title, ADHD Coaching Matters: The Definitive Guide by Sarah D. Wright, was presented at the conference. The book addresses everything you ever wanted to know about the profession of ADHD Coaching: its history, the evidence for its efficacy, a comprehensive listing of all available trainings and certifications, liability insurance options, how to decipher all those darned acronyms, chronologies of the development of the profession and of the ACO, and more. You can pre-order the book here.

The second announcement was the unveiling of ACO’s new website. It’s not officially up and running yet, but give us another month and you’ll see it. You’ll find it easier to navigate and the information you need on membership, research, awareness, and so much more.

The third announcement is that ADDA and the ACO are collaborating to bring you some fantastic marketing opportunities at the upcoming ADDA conference July 24-27 in Orlando, Florida.

One huge opportunity is Coach Speed Dating; ADHD Coaches who are members of ADDA and ACO and are certified by a credentialing body are eligible to participate. Speed dating allows conference attendees to sit with you for 3 minutes where business cards and information may be exchanged. What a great place to pick up new clients! The cost? Just $25. The deadline to register is June 13. Click here to find out more and to register. Or download the registration form here.

Also, there are opportunities for those who are members of ADDA and ACO to save money on advertising and exhibiting at the ADDA conference. ADDA is offering a 15% discount to ACO members (who are also ADDA members) on advertising and exhibiting at the ADDA conference. This includes advertising in the program book, on the website and/or the mobile app. It also includes exhibit table or booths and coaches can feel free to purchase a table or booth in groups to make it even more affordable. Click here to find out more.

Or, you might just be interested in the opportunity to have a brochure, flier or other information in the conference bags. If you hold membership in both organizations, you will receive 50% off of $500!!! The deadline for you is June 13. Click here to find out more. We hope to see you there!

In wrapping up, each year our conference attendees share with us their impressions of the conference and its value to them as ADHD coaches. Our most frequent compliment is “BEST CONFERENCE YET!”.

If you couldn’t attend the ACO conference this year, you can order the complete proceedings. And we certainly hope you will attend next year for our 10-year anniversary celebration, May 1-3 in Phoenix, Arizona! Our conference chairs for 2015 will be Michel Fitos and Sherri Cannon. Please congratulate your colleagues and consider offering your help. Contact them at

Hope you are all doing well. Until next time…
